HELLO, I’M JOY
A scientist’s curiosity.
A diplomat’s perspective.
I’m Joyce Fati Masvaya, a biotechnology and public health professional working at the intersection of science, policy and international affairs.
My work centres on a question: how can we translate scientific progress into safer, healthier and more peaceful futures? I bring experience in biosafety regulation, global health and diplomacy to conversations about biosecurity and emerging technologies, including AI × Bio.
I founded Biodefenders Africa Network and created Dear Future Leaders to connect ideas with people, open space for African perspectives and encourage the next generation to lead.
Beyond policy, I care about mentorship: helping young people recognise their possibilities, navigate opportunities and find their voice.
